So you aren't missing anything, except maybe their inside jokes when you see them laughing with each other, and I'm ok with that.loralei913https://www.blogger.com/profile/08326032176317263063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474168574031229752.post-65984966989285651732014-12-05T05:04:44.886-08:002014-12-05T05:04:44.886-08:00I think their videos do a great job of showing how...I think their videos do a great job of showing how they break down some of the techniques for the dogs, but the fact is that most of them are natural for the dogs and don't need to be trained. It's the handler that needs the training! In the Next Level videos, it basically goes over what they consider to be the "foundations", which is independent obstacle performance. They assume that the people who are coming to them for seminars (or paying for membership) already know how to teach obstacles, and the videos have been a series of tests to find out where the holes are in each dog's understanding of the obstacles. There are plenty of resources for teaching obstacles, and they do a good job of explaining to the students in the seminars how they would go about fixing the holes, even if they don't go through step by step showing what they do. By the looks of it, all the students went home with plenty of homework! It's not designed for any one to be perfect.loralei913https://www.blogger.com/profile/08326032176317263063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474168574031229752.post-54583542674188359422014-12-05T04:59:00.588-08:002014-12-05T04:59:00.588-08:00Thought I already replied to this, don't know ...Thought I already replied to this, don't know where it went. That's how I felt about it at first too. But then curiosity got the better of me. I still really wish it didn't resemble SG with all the slick advertising, but I think it is getting less so, they don't really need to advertise as much any more now that so many people know about it.loralei913https://www.blogger.com/profile/08326032176317263063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474168574031229752.post-75536628811174344742014-12-04T17:51:13.735-08:002014-12-04T17:51:13.735-08:00The first part of their seminars is about testing ...The first part of their seminars is about testing obstacle performance, they say that somewhere in there. So the first four videos so far have been on that, and probably the fifth one will be too, will come out tomorrow. Then I presume they will move on to techniques on short sequences/single jumps. Then courses. <br />And the translator is the person who is speaking, not some random translator. So they are paraphrasing what they told the student in the seminar. loralei913https://www.blogger.com/profile/08326032176317263063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474168574031229752.post-52896417659703128482014-12-04T17:33:31.323-08:002014-12-04T17:33:31.323-08:00It wouldn't let me finish my comment, so here ...It wouldn't let me finish my comment, so here is the rest. After watching 2 seminars, I've learned nothing. Ugh!! So I will be canceling againDianahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16378710392378543981noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474168574031229752.post-54679045792597166112014-12-04T17:31:42.414-08:002014-12-04T17:31:42.414-08:00I signed up for OMD. Because right now it seems like it's an elite club that only "special" people get into their seminars in the US. Very off putting ) so I signed up again and was disappointed. There is a person translating into English what is being said. But show will talk forever and the English translation is short. I have been toying with the idea of paying for another day to read the rest of the articles and catch up on some of the Next Level stuff, and I might give it a go. The one thing that was a big put off to me was that there was virtually no foundation stuff in there, which seems insane to me. You can show me all the fancy handling moves in the world but if you don't tell me the foundation that they were built on than it's kinda useless. Hopefully the Next Level stuff will have more of that!Mufaasa's Mumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08433146683827042664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8474168574031229752.post-26110469050079101082014-12-03T18:50:11.979-08:002014-12-03T18:50:11.979-08:00Kind of interesting--I was looking at One Mind ear...Kind of interesting--I was looking at One Mind early last month, and decided against it--really liked what I saw of the philosophy, really disliked the informationless individual teaser videos, had no intention of paying for a sample day of looking around. It still sounds like there are pieces that could be of use, but I guess it's a different strokes thing--the interface/approach just feels too...slick...for me. I'm glad it's working for you!
